- Prepare your firmware dd-wrt mini version
- Turn on your Linksys WRT54GL
- Keep on pressing reset button on the back of WRT54GL for few minutes
- Connect your computer using UTP to port LAN on the back of WRT54GL
- Set your IP use the IP statistic
- If you use Windows , open two commands prompt. Type on the first command “ping-t 192.168.1.1″. But if you use Linux program you can open two consoles then let it run
- Give “tftp” in second command or console
- The in tftp prompt run this command “tftp>connect 192.168.1.1
- tftp>binary
- tftp>Put dd-WRT.v24_mini_generic.bin
- that is the last step of flashing. And don’ press any key during flashing process.

Here the easy step to install LINKSYS WRT54GL from interface web:
- Download Firmware standard and mini type from www.dd-wrt.com
- Turn on your pc and LINKYYS WRT54GL
- Insert UTP cable to one of four ports for LAN to network card port. It is better if you prefer port 1 LAN in LINKSYS WRT54GL
- Set your computer IP address with DHCP modus to get IP address from wireless router.
- Press reset bottom in the back of LINKSYS WRT54GL for 5 seconds to reset PC hardware
- Type http\\192.168.1.1 in tab address in web brows
- Don’t insert any letter in user name and type admin in password in the prom log in
- Select Administration and then Firmware in web router page
9. Select brows bottom in Firmware Upgrade, then select firmware DD-WRT mini type have you downloaded. In this case editor use dd-wrt.v24_mini_generic.bin. Then select Upgrade
10. Wait till the upgrade process finish. You are forbidden to press any key during the upgrade process.
11. Carry out the hardware reset.
12. Type \\192.168.1.1 in your brows column
13. In login prompt type root in username column and admin in password column. Then select ok
14. Select firmware upgrade in administrator menu then select Brows. Select DD-WRT standard type. In this case editor use dd-wrt.v24_std_generic.bin. Then select upgrade.

16. Reset hardware as the previous step
17. retype http\\192.168.1.1 in brows column
