>Google phone Nexus Galaxy is pure, free of bloatware and is designed to run Google’s Android dream exactly as it is. But at Verizon Wireless, that would not be the case.
Although Verizon Galaxy Nexus will run a mostly unmodified version of Android 4.0, codenamed Ice Cream Sandwich, the carrier will block the Google Wallet, which can be used for you to pay at some retailers by swiping your mobile phone in front of the terminal payments, Computerworld reported. Verizon, T-Mobile and AT & T is working on their own payment system called Isis, and Google Wallet, backed by Sprint, will be a threat. Isis is not launching until next year, so Verizon Galaxy Nexus users will not be able to use NFC payments at all.
Verizon also will install bloatware on the phone. Two applications were confirmed: My Verizon Mobile and Backup Assistant. The former somewhat understandable, because it allows Verizon customers to pay bills and handle, but the latter is excessive given that Google also backs up your contacts will automatically (and make them available in other, non-Verizon devices). Fortunately, Android Ice Cream Sandwich has bloatware removal tool to prevent unwanted software from eating your system resources.
Verizon has not confirmed a release date or price for Nexus Galaxy, but an unnamed source told the Wall Street Journal that the phone will be launched this month for $ 300, and rumors of Droid Life says the phone will launch on December 9. Verizon intervened addition, Nexus Galaxy still looks like Android phone to hit. Our own Harry McCracken called it a “worthy rival (for iPhone) in the manner previously Android phone yet.”
