Japanese Space Agency, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), is considering to include a humanoid robot that can talk to the International Space Station or ISS (International Space Station).
Actually, this is not the first robot to be sent into space. Robonaut R-2 belong to the United States space agency, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), will be visited first flight with the ISS on space shuttle Discovery next week.
It said JAXA spokesman Satoshi Sano, a robot developed by Dentsu Inc. and a team of scientists at Tokyo University is the development of robotic astronauts who have been there. This time with a humanoid form would make it more flexible to interact with humans.
“We made a robot that is very similar to humans, has facial expressions and can be a friend to chat astronaut,” said Satoshi.
Walking uses the Android operating system, this robot will replace astronaut when they sleep to monitor the mission trip. Not only that, the robot also monitors the health and stress levels experienced by astronauts.
