Both of media has similarity and difference. The similarity is both of the DVD media have single layer with 4,7 GB and this capacity is same with time of playing standard, it is 120 minutes.

· DVD-R.

This DVD media comes with general purposes and authoring. General purpose is a disc which will not allow people to copy movies, game or music inside the disc. But this general purpose can be burned by some types such as Panasonic LF-D311 , Panasonic D321, apple superdrive and many others. The authoring DVD-Rs have to be burned by Pioneer DVR-S201 DVD writer. This is created without copy protection and usually used in professional Industry, distributors and duplicator of retail DVD.

· DVD-RW.

This DVD media is against anymore with DVD-R. IF DVD-R is not could not be rewritten and could not be copied, DVD-RW is re-writeable and erasable. Even more it can be done till 1000 times. But to use the disc we have to erase at all and it will not be able to be used if it erase only in pieces or in a bits.

Pioneer DVR-104s, kind of DVD-R burners can burn DVD-RW discs. But Panasonic DVD burners only burn DVD-R and DVD RAM discs.
