CALIFORNIA – developer of popular games, Zynga, has purchased the site of social browser, Flock.

In the meantime, detailed information regarding the acquisition have not been announced officially. Similarly, as quoted from the IT ProPortal, Saturday (01/08/2011).

Flock Web browsers allow users to browse websites while still connected with social networking platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Digg and YouTube.

Social browser was first launched in 2005, and managed to collect money funding of USD10 million. Number of users of Flock is approximately 10 million people. In addition, Flock also ranked second on the list of 10 top-up desktop applications.

“With more than a quarter billion users, Zynga has strong followers all over the world. An understanding of social games and they will be what users want, was much admired,” wrote Shawn Hardin, CEO of Flock, in his blog.

“Our team will help Zynga achieve their goal to build a fun social game and is available to anyone, anytime, and on any platform,” added Hardin.
